Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Ruslan Tsitser (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Routine mobile application (“App”). Routine is a private checklist for repeating and one-time tasks, with schedules, reminders, and optional Home Screen widgets. The App is designed to keep your data on your device.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Tasks — titles, optional details, pin and pause status, and the schedules you configure (times, repeat rules, and one-time dates);
- Reminders — the reminder offsets you choose for a schedule (for example, at the scheduled time or minutes beforehand);
- Completion status — which scheduled occurrences you mark complete;
- Widget preferences — optional Home Screen widget display settings you choose in the App (for example, text size and whether to show descriptions).
Information collected automatically
- Local app data stored on your device so the App and its widgets can work (tasks, completions, and preferences).
The App does not create user accounts, collect location data, contact your address book, or access your photo library.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Store and display your tasks, schedules, and completion status on your device;
- Schedule local notifications for reminders you configure;
- Show due items in the App and in Home Screen widgets;
- Comply with legal obligations.
Your task data stays on your device and is not sent to our servers for ordinary App use.
3. Where data is stored
Tasks, completion status, and widget preferences are stored on your device using shared local storage (an App Group) so the App and its widgets can access the same data. We do not operate a user account or cloud backup for your data in the current version of the App. Uninstalling the App may delete local data depending on your device settings.
4. Third-party services
The App does not include analytics SDKs, advertising networks, or other third-party data processors for ordinary use. Purchases, if any, and App Store distribution are handled by Apple according to Apple’s policies.
5. Permissions
The App may request permission to send local notifications so it can remind you about scheduled tasks. You can deny permission; reminders will not fire without it. Tasks and schedules remain available in the App and widgets.
6. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract — to provide the App and features you request;
- Legitimate interests — to secure and improve the App, where balanced against your rights;
- Legal obligation — where applicable.
7. Retention
Data on your device remains until you delete tasks or uninstall the App.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we control;
- Object to or restrict certain processing;
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

9. Children
The App is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data through the App.
10. Security
Your data remains on your device under your device’s protections. No system is completely secure.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised Policy.
